Cookie Policy
HireUp, Inc. ("HireUp," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on hireup.cloud to deliver our Communication Intelligence Platform securely and efficiently. This Cookie Policy explains how and why we use cookies, the choices available to you, and how this aligns with the GDPR, UK GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, and basic CCPA requirements.

1. Overview
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help websites recognize your device and remember information about your visit. Some cookies are essential for our website to function, while others support analytics or remember your preferences. Cookies set by HireUp are first-party cookies. We do not allow third-party advertising networks or marketing trackers on our site.
This Cookie Policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and our Security & Data Protection commitments. Our Subprocessor Disclosures describe the service providers who help us deliver our platform.
2. Why we use cookies
We use cookies to:
- Deliver core website functionality and secure platform access.
- Maintain session integrity, authentication, and fraud prevention.
- Remember your consent and language preferences.
- Understand aggregated usage patterns to improve our services.
3. Legal bases for processing
Under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and ePrivacy Directive, our legal bases for processing personal data via cookies are:
- Strictly Necessary Cookies: Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) in delivering a secure, functioning platform.
- Functional / Preference Cookies: Your consent (Article 6(1)(a)).
- Analytics Cookies: Your consent (Article 6(1)(a)). We use privacy-friendly, aggregated analytics and do not collect personally identifiable information for analytics.
Under the CCPA, we do not “sell” or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can still manage your preferences as described below.
4. Cookie categories
4.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for website operation, secure login, load balancing, and platform stability. They are always active and cannot be switched off in our systems. You can configure your browser to block these cookies, but you may be unable to sign in or use key features.
4.2 Functional / Preference Cookies
These cookies remember your choices—such as language settings or consent selections—to personalise your experience. They only run when you have provided consent through our cookie banner or settings controls.
4.3 Analytics Cookies
Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors engage with our site so we can improve performance. We operate analytics using first-party tools hosted on AWS in the EU and US, and we work with aggregated or anonymised data. These cookies are only set when you opt in.
5. Managing your preferences
5.1 Cookie consent manager
You can review or update your cookie preferences at any time by selecting “Cookie Settings” in the site footer or reopening the cookie banner. Changes take effect immediately and are recorded in the hireup_consent cookie.
5.2 Browser controls
Most browsers allow you to delete cookies or block cookies entirely. Instructions vary by browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge). Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent you from logging in or accessing portions of the site.
5.3 Do Not Track signals
HireUp currently does not respond to Do Not Track signals. You can use the cookie consent manager or browser controls to manage your preferences.
5.4 CCPA rights
California residents can exercise their CCPA rights by contacting us as outlined below. Because we do not sell or share personal information for advertising, opt-out requests of that type are not required.
6. Hosting, retention and security
We host our services on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in EU and US regions. Cookie data is retained only for its stated purpose and duration. Session cookies expire when you log out or close your browser, while persistent cookies expire automatically at the end of their retention period. Security measures described in our Security & Data Protection page apply to cookie-related data.
7. Data sharing and subprocessors
We limit access to cookie-related data to authorised personnel and subprocessors who support our services (for example, hosting and analytics providers). These subprocessors are listed in our Subprocessor Disclosures. Contracts with subprocessors include privacy and security commitments consistent with this Cookie Policy.
8. International data transfers
When cookie-related data involves transfers outside the European Economic Area (EEA) or the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions, as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Contact us
If you have questions or concerns about this Cookie Policy or our privacy practices, contact us at legal@hireup.cloud. EU and UK residents may also reach out to our designated representatives listed in our Privacy Policy.
10. Updates to this Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in technology, legal requirements, or our practices. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where required, seek renewed consent. We encourage you to review this Cookie Policy periodically.
